When Mary King, 30, and her husband David, 27, became parents to baby boy Xavier, they had no idea how advanced he would become.
Three months later, he was sitting up on his own. At six-months-old he progressed to walking up to six feet without support.

Proud mother Mrs King was quoted in the Telegraph as saying: "Xavier is more advanced than most babies his age. It was just amazing when he got up and started putting one leg in front of the other. "
The new parents are now baby-proofing their home for their adventurous son. Experts in child development, like Dr Martin Ward Platt from the Royal Victoria Infirmary in Newcastle, have confirmed that walking at this age is very rare, but inevitable with the huge number of births (around 700,000 per year),
