Rumours abound that actress Scarlett Johansson is pregnant by Madonna's ex, Sean Penn. The reason for these raised suspicions? The merest hint of what appears to be a baby bump under her jogginggear on a recently papped pavement-pound with Sean, and fellow actor Owen Wilson.

Scarlett, 26, has been in a denying mood of late though, also disputing that she and Sean, 50, are an item, saying only that they are 'old friends' (since kindergarten, maybe? er, no, probably not).

The 'pregnancy' pics caused enough of a furore for Scarlett's spokesperson to issue a statement, saying:

'Scarlett is not pregnant. She's outside running and it's simply the placement of her shirt that is misleading. She's been training for The Avengers for over four months and is in the best shape of her life.'
