Embarrassing celeb siblings
- Andrew Tweedy, brother to Cheryl Cole<p> Cheryl Cole's brother has long been a source of embarrassment - the latest of his 90 convictions saw him jailed recently for his part in the armed robbery of a post office. The 30-year-old helped plan the robbery and supplied four imitation handguns for the crime gang who carried out the frightening heist. He was jailed for six years.</p>

- Alison Carey Scott, sister to Mariah Carey<p> While Mariah is a singing superstar, her sister Alison is a former drug addict who is HIV positive. She recently told the <em>National Enquirer</em> that, though she has been alcohol and drug-free for 14 months, she is so cash-strapped that she is charging $250 an hour as an "adult escort".</p> <p> Alison claims she approached her family for help but "they basically ignored me".</p>

- Gabriel Cannon, brother to Nick Cannon<p> Mariah's husband Nick Cannon has his own family problems. His brother Gabriel was arrested attempting to steal video equipment, jewellery and other personal items in California earlier this year.</p> <p> Though he and two other suspects were released from custody, the investigation is ongoing.</p>

- Aaron Burke, brother to Alexandra Burke<p> <em>The Sun</em> newspaper alleged that <em>X Factor</em> winner Alexandra Burke's younger brother was a drug dealer earlier this year.</p> <p> Aaron Burke, 18, was reportedly caught on hidden camera dealing cocaine in Islington, North London.</p> <p> In the video footage he reportedly says: "I get it for celebrities I've met because of my sister." In 2009, Alex described him as a "lost soul" after he overdosed on a combination of pills.</p>

- Zakiya Berrabah, sister to Amelle Berrabah<p> The 35-year-old sister of <em>Sugababe</em> Amelle (pictured) was working as a nurse when she was charged with three counts of theft and two of obtaining property by deception.</p> <p> Zakiya admitted to stealing cash, bank cards and store cards from patients at the Royal Surrey County hospital, spending more than £5,000 on clothes and shoes.<br /> <br /> She was given a three-year community order when it emerged that she was on medication for bipolar disorder.</p>

- Stephanie Pratt, sister to Spencer Pratt<p> Sister of <em>The Hills</em>' Spencer, Stephanie was arrested in 2006 when she and a friend were caught shoplifting.</p> <p> When their bags were searched at the police station, cops found enough prescription drugs to add a charge of "promoting a dangerous drug" to their rap sheet. The drugs charges were dropped but Pratt pleaded guilty to theft.</p> <p> Stephanie was arrested again in 2009 for drink driving and both Spencer and his wife Heidi Montag have since disowned her.</p>

- Hania Barton, sister to Mischa Barton<p> Actress Mischa Barton (pictured) has had her own problems in the past but her sister Hania was just 19 when she checked into rehab.</p> <p> Sources claimed she was "out of control" prior to entering a rehab facility where she was treated for addiction to prescription pain killers.</p>

- Ronnie Ramsay, brother to Gordon Ramsay<p> Foul-mouthed celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay wrote candidly about his younger brother's heroin addiction in his autobiography <em>Humble Pie</em>, admitting: "It's the one thing I feel I've failed at. I find it hard knowing that there's nothing I can do to help."<br /> <br /> Gordon claims Ronnie, who has been in rehab five times, threatened both him and his children in a bid to get cash. In 2007, Ronnie was jailed for 10 months in Indonesia for possession of heroin.</p> <p> When he returned to the UK in 2009, he was snapped selling the <em>Big Issue</em> and confessed his family had "wiped their hands" of him.</p>

- Rupert Young, brother to Will Young<p> While <em>Pop Idol</em> winner Will Young's career was on the up and up, his twin brother Rupert's life was spinning out of control.</p> <p> An alcoholic who nearly died after cutting his wrists, Rupert was arrested in 2004 after a brawl in London and was given a 12-month conditional discharge. He concedes that his family eventually "had to shut him out" but was later diagnosed with depressive mood disorder dysthymia while at a treatment centre in Arizona.</p> <p> He has since set up his own charity, the Mood Foundation.</p>

- John Draper Witherspoon, brother to Reese Witherspoon<p> The brother of Hollywood A-lister Reese Witherspoon was arrested in 2002 and charged with aggravated burglary and sexual battery.</p> <p> Reports claimed he had entered his neighbour's apartment where the young woman was asleep on the sofa. She alleged that he was trying to undress her when she woke up.</p> <p> When asked about the incident, Reese simply responded "no comment".</p>
