• Holly Willoughby defends her baby name

  After welcoming her second baby, Belle, after what seemed like the longest celebrity labour ever, Holly got a bit of grief about her choice of baby name.

  Whilst on maternity leave, Leigh Francis rang the new mum from his panel show, Celebrity Juice, to discuss the matter, suggesting the name sounded like cheese (well, we were all thinking it…).
  
  ‘Do you realise you've named the baby after little red pieces of cheese,’ laughed Leigh, to which Holly replied, ‘well, she won’t be a baby for long.’

  She then demanded Chris Moyles, who was also in the studio, was put on the phone, saying: ‘Is Moyles there with you? Was he taking the p**** out of my baby's name? Say it to my face Moyles!’

• Amanda Holden blasts the Guardian

  After losing her unborn baby at seven months, TV’s golden girl Amanda Holden said there would never be anything in print from her about her experience.
  
  But when the NOTW hacking scandal broke and the newspapers all got on their high horses, Amanda broke her silence with the tweet:

  ‘Ps. Guardian Media. Do some investigative journalism yourselves and find out the huge difference between Miscarriage and Stillbirth!’

• Kirstie Allsopp takes on the NCT

  Kirstie welcomed both her children by Caesarean section and stuck up for all mums who did the same when she took on the National Childbirth Trust (NCT), criticising it for not providing enough information about the procedure in classes.

  Kirstie started the argument by saying: ‘I suspect giving birth naturally is one of the most life-enhancing experiences you can have if it goes well.

  ‘That's the dream, but for a quarter of women it is not the reality, and we need to make sure they don't feel like a failure.

  ‘Because there are people who feel so passionately about what is known as a 'natural birth', and seem so against Caesareans, it can seem like there is very little middle ground.'

  The mum of two then took to her Twitter page asking: ‘Anyone been on an NCT course recently? Was there any info/discussion on what happens in the event of you needing a C-section?’

  Belinda Phipps, the NCT's chief executive responded to her words saying: ‘Most NCT classes are between 12 and 16 hours - with eight pairs of people - fitting in everything is the problem.’

  But Kirstie wouldn’t let it go, tweeting back: ‘Not talking C-sections during a childbirth course is like not talking Shakespeare during an English literature course.’

• Kym Marsh takes on the breastfeeding bullies

  After welcoming her daughter Polly five weeks early, Kym was blasted on Twitter for not breastfeeding her premature baby girl.
  
  The row started after a user said Kym was putting vanity before what was best for her new arrival, suggesting she ‘didn’t want to spoil her boob job’.

  The feisty mum angrily tweeted back:
  
  ‘I stayed in bed for three months to bring my baby into this world after losing one so do not dare EVER criticize me. Let's hope you never go through what I did, ignorant pillock.’

  The annoyed mum then added: ‘Done everything in my power to get my little girl here. Some nasty pieces of work, honestly.'
  
  Kym previously told OK! Magazine she has tried breastfeeding but was not producing enough milk to keep it up, and suffered the baby blues after Polly’s birth.

• Kym Marsh stands up for working mums

  Just as the breastfeeding row was dying down, Kym logged back on to Twitter to defend her choice to be a working mum after welcoming Polly.

  The mum of three hit back at a tweet which said she was ‘ridiculous’ for leaving her baby for ‘TV’.
  
  Standing up for working mums everywhere, Kym tweeted back to the gobby user:

  'It's called working.....or should we not be working when we have children?? How dare we provide for our kids! Idiot.'
  
  She then sent a tweet to her mum to reiterate her point, saying: 'Can you believe I'm being criticised for WORKING now!! Suppose I should rely on others to provide for my kids should I??! Ha x.
  
  'Makes me laugh that some people think when u have children u should just stay chained to the house!!! We HAVE to work and NEED a life! Fools.'

• Myleene Klass sticks up for Hero

  Proud new mum Myleene made us all wonder when she announced she’d called her new baby girl, Hero, after a character in the Shakespearean play Much Ado About Nothing.
  
  While Myleene seemed thrilled at her quirky name choice, not everyone was so sure, and she found herself defending the choice on her Twitter page after one of her followers asked her:

  ‘Is there any chance you could change your mind and give her a name she might appreciate in ten years!’
  
  Myleene was straight to the keyboard to write back: ‘Are you crazy?! Her name's amazing!'
  
  She then thanked another follower for tweeting how much they loved the name with the message: ‘Thank you. It appears to have divided some people! We absolutely love it!'

• Myleene Klass hits back at the at the 'breastapo'

  Stepping into the ring for Twitter row mark two, Myleene, like fellow feisty mum, Kym Marsh, defended mums who don’t breastfeed, calling breastfeeding bullies the ‘Breastapo’.

  Myleene, who actually was breastfeeding new baby Hero said:

  ‘I breastfeed for my family, not to pacify the Breastpo. I think people should be very careful when it comes to judging how others raise their children.

  ‘Aren't we all just doing the best we can? Besides, you never know what a person's circumstances are.’

• Kirsty Young attacks pushy parents

  Mum of two Kirsty hit out at pushy mums and dads last year, calling behaviour by parents to try and make children ‘baby Einsteins’ the ‘modern disease’.
  
  She told the Radio Times that too many people were preoccupied with children as an ‘extension of their own success’, adding that children were being ‘funnelled into areas of achievement’, suggesting mums who give up work to ‘do’ children justify it by treating them as aspirational objects.
  
  As you can imagine, it didn’t go down too well…

• Sadie Frost blasts Sienna Miller for cutting her son's hair

  Back when Sienna was loved up with Jude Law, she felt the wrath of tough mum Sadie Frost after she took Jude and Sadie’s then seven-year-old son, Rudy, to the hairdressers for a re-style, chopping off all his curls without asking his mum first.
  
  Furious Sadie let off steam on Twitter with the angry message:
  
  ‘Think ya should get ya own child and then cut their hair!'
  
  Jude and Sienna are no longer together, so we doubt there’s any more ill-advised hair appointments for Rudy looming….

• Denise Van Outen Vs Natalie Cassidy

  When then mum-to-be Natalie Cassidy criticised Denise Van Outen for heading back to work soon after welcoming baby Betsy, Den wasn’t happy.

  But when she spied Natalie heading to a chat show, baby Eliza in tow, to promote her new reality show (which just so happened to follow Natalie’s life as a new mum) she really saw red, taking to Twitter and firing off angry weet after angry tweet:

  'Natalie Cassidy criticised me for going back to work after having Betsy.’
  
  ‘Natalie's on Lorraine show now promoting her reality pregnancy/new mum show. Isn't that work????’
  
  ‘She said she did the show for money, so yes, that is work. Pot calling!!!!’
  
  ‘We put our family picture out press to raise money for Great Ormand street, she did a family shot and put the money in her pocket. End of rant!’
