The Prime Minister and SamCam toured the Royal Cornwall hospital in Truro with one-year-old Florence, who looked adorable in a pretty pink frock and hair clip.
The couple chatted to the doctors who helped safely deliver Florence last year after Samantha went into labour several weeks early while on holiday in the area.
David was overheard telling a couple in the hospital that Florence was the last child for
himself and Samantha, who are also parents to Nancy and Arthur. The couple's oldest child, Ivan, who suffered from cerebral palsy and severe epilepsy, died aged six in 2009.

'Mine were all early and that's why I think she was not too little. She was ready to come out.'
David also admitted Florence's bed for the first few weeks wasn't an expensive, glamorous cot, but a cardboard cot made by her sister, Nancy:
'Her sister made it for her out of a cardboard box and it was her cot for the first few days, she moved back to Downing Street in it!'

'I didn't even think about it. I had to act quickly and deal with a woman in labour. I was only aware of the pressure after the event, that was when I realised the magnitude of the situation. It was all very exciting.'
How cute is little Florence?
