Strictly Come Dancing star Brendan Cole has spoken of his joy at the prospect of becoming a dad for the first time.

Brendan and wife Zoe, 31, recently broke their happy nappy news in typical showbiz style - via Twitter! Writing next to a pic of gorgeous Zoe, Brandon tweeted: 'Check out my beautiful wife, if you think it looks like she might be glowing then you're right, she is!'

Brendan, 36, told the Sunday Mirror that is was 'brilliant news' and that they were both 'very excited and nervous' (but 'mostly excited'!) about their forthcoming arrival.

The dad-to-be confirmed that they had had their 12-week scan, but were not sure if they would find out the sex at subsequent appointments, saying they still had to have a 'few discussions' about it!

Brendan added that they are 'trying to enjoy' the pregnancy, and that his wife was coping well - despite he says having, 'like all women' her 'share of ups and downs' (say what?!).

Brendan and Zoe's baby is due early in the New Year, shortly after the finale of the next series of Strictly - and Brendan is hoping he or she will not arrive early!

"It's due in January – after Strictly has ended," he says. "Well, that's the plan, if it comes before then, who knows, there might be a clash..."

Hmm, top parenting tip for you, Bren, babies rarely, if ever, arrive, behave, or work to schedules...
