In these enlightened times, it's the normal practice for the father to be at the mother's side when she gives birth. But soccer bad boy Mario Balotelli had his hands full – with a model called Fanny.

As the Manchester City striker's ex Raffaella Fico was giving birth to his daughter, Mario was out on the town with Vogue magazine beauty Fanny Robert Neguesha, 22.

As ex-girlfriend Raffaella Fico gave birth to Pia at an Italian clinic, Mario and Fanny had been photographed together leaving Manchester's Zouk Bar & Grill.

A source told The Sun: "Fanny is absolutely stunning and Mario really likes her. They only met a few weeks ago but are both very keen on each other.

"Mario wanted to spend some time with her so paid for her and a pal to fly to Manchester. They have had a blast and Fanny was with Mario the night his daughter was born. He was delighted to become a dad and Fanny was happy for him as well. But at the moment he hasn't made any plans to go and see Raffaella and his daughter."

Raffaella and Mario were once engaged but she dumped him after he cheated on her. Two months later she announced she was pregnant.
