Some showbiz stories are just so weird they are difficult to even decipher. And when they involve Suri Cruise they seem to get a whole lot weirder...
The latest rumour doing the rounds about the fruit of Tom Cruise's loins is that she has a BODY DOUBLE, used to stop her being hounded by paps or abducted by ransom-seeking kidnappers...
The Daily Mail cites an incident on Monday when a car carrying Suri and her newly divorced mum Katie Holmes was photographed as it pulled away from her school in Manhattan. Nothing odd in that obviously, except, they claim that when it stopped outside an eatery (er, that's a restaurant to you and me) in the TriBeCa district ANOTHER girl - who was not Miss Cruise - got out with a nanny in tow. Still with us?
The story originated in the NY Daily News, which stated the child who exited the car was definitely not Suri, despite her wearing an identical outfit complete with head band to the one Suri was earlier seen in, and that ANOTHER car subsequently pulled up at the restaurant and the REAL Suri got out.
We can barely keep up...
The NY Daily News also reports that Tom has 'beefed up' security around Suri in recent months and has 'met with risk assessment teams and kidnapping specialists'. Fair enough for a showbiz family, but this whole lookalike decoy thing seems a little extreme - no?
PA The real Suri Cruise. Or is it?
And of course, poses so many questions! Why would the parents of the 'decoy' risk their child's safety or court press intrusion? And how did Katie and Tom source the doppelgänger? Through Central Casting? An ad in the New York Times?
All seems totally bonkers to us!
Suri Cruise: Her shoe style
- Party girl<p> Suri’s found a pair of real <a href="http://www.parentdish.co.uk/2011/04/06/suri-cruise-birthday-13-000-circus-party/" target="_blank">party</a> shoes in these fancy gold T-bar sandals, and, never one to not get value from her wardrobe, these made quite a few appearances before, naturally, Suri out grew them.</p>

- Out with the old, and in with the new<p> Ditching gold for silver, Suri squeezes her feet into another pair of heels for a day out. Looks like mum took the easy option of comfy flats for the pair’s walkabout though.</p>

- Heels on the beach<p> The little lady recently hit the <a href="http://www.parentdish.co.uk/2011/05/31/suri-cruise-steps-out-in-heels-on-the-beach/" target="_blank">beach </a>for a day with her mum, but forgot her flip flops! Instead she tackled the sand in these, gorgeous, but completely impractical, gold heels, complete with party dress, of course.</p>

- Suri in slippers<p> Ditching the heels, if only for one night only, Suri looks ready for bed in these fantastic pig slippers. Great to see her wearing something fun rather than so grown up. Didn’t fancy joining her, Katie?</p>

- Flower power<p> Never one to be a wall erm, flower, Suri turned heads when she stepped out a pair of floral slip-on heels, colour clashing brilliantly with a pink heart print dress and stylish mac.</p>

- Not a good look<p> Not as bad as socks and sandals, but these thick socks and dainty pumps don’t quite work, especially on such tiny tootsies. Lost your fashionista style already, Suri?</p>

- Comfort at last<p> Hurrah! Suri’s discovered comfort. Here she is, finally, in flat, comfy boots. Clearly she doesn’t want to get those booties dirty though, opting for a carry instead…</p>

- Ballerina beauty<p> Off to dance class? Nope, just a fancy tutu and ballet pump combo to battle the New York rain. Hey, at least she’s got a brolly, right?</p>

- Grrrrrrrreat choice!<p> Loving the leopard print on this pair, and there’s not a heel in sight!</p>

- Dad, I need you!<p> Looks like the stacked heels got a little too much for sleepy Suri. Luckily Tom’s on hand to scoop her, and her heels up for a carry.</p>
