Whether you have a little one starting school or an older child going into a new year at primary school, a snazzy lunch box is a must. Not only will it keep your hungry child's lunch intact and not buried at the bottom of a wet school bag, but if you get a print and style they love, they might be more tempted to actually tuck into the healthy packed lunch you lovingly package up each morning.
Waterproof material is a must for obvious reasons, and if you're not one for cartons of juice, invest in a water bottle to accompany the box. (Fun things to shop for before term starts if your little one is nervous about starting school.)
If you've got a forgetful school goer on your hands, lots of styles are now more like bags than boxes, with handy shoulder straps if you reckon you'll be searching playgrounds for lost lunch boxes once term starts.
For extra Brownie points, try Marks and Spencer, Matalan and the supermarkets for character boxes and bags for under a fiver.
For older children who might not appreciate the idea of a lunchbox, try online retailers like Find Me and Gift and Funky Moose for some more grown up, quirky styles.
