When you're heading to the high street for back to school essentials ready for the new term, on your list will probably be a new bag.
You might think that old rucksack could do another year, but take a proper look - chances are it's slightly ripped and is grubby to the point of no return. Plus, buying a new one is a real treat for children, and you can pick up a bargain if you know where to look.
The usual suspects, Marks and Spencer and John Lewis are great places to try, but we've also seen some rather cool styles at Brantano, Matalan and the supermarkets.
Character styles are your best bet your younger children, and will give you serious Brownie points if you find a real cool one (Think Cars 2 and Toy Story 3), and for older girls, Accessorize has gorgeous prints and styles.
Darker colours are best as they'll go the distance and not require so many turns in the machine with copious amounts of Vanish - talking of which, it's worth checking the material is washable before you buy.
