Pregnancy in itself can bring some very strange symptoms. Katie blogged about some of them early in her pregnancy and more recently here. One of the more talked about symptoms is pregnancy cravings, and that's partly because the types of cravings vary so wildly.

Some women get fairly normal symptoms, like Katie Holmes who craved cupcakes and Nicole Richie craving doughnuts. Actually, considering how tiny they both are, perhaps that wasn't so normal.

Other women have seriously bizarre symptoms. Britney Spears craved dirt, and Jools Oliver is a fan of marmite on bananas.

Nicole Richie has given birth to her second child - and the reality TV star has chosen a suitably daft name.

The baby boy has been named Sparrow James Winter Madden. Oh dear.

That's to go along with their daughter Harlow. It could have been worse I suppose. They could have called him Basildon.

Sparrow, weighing 7lbs 14oz, is a second grandchild for Nicole's singer father Lionel Richie.

Nicole and her partner Joel Madden released a statement saying: "In the middle of night, the very early hours of September 9, 2009, Sparrow James Midnight Madden was born to Nicole Richie and Joel Madden.

"Nicole, Joel, Harlow and Sparrow are all doing well. Thank you for all of your good wishes."

When it comes to stylish celebrity toddlers, there are plenty to choose from.

From Gwen Stefani's son Kingston to Nicole Richie's daughter Harlow, many togged-up star tots are vying for the crown.

However, they are no match for 3-year-old Suri Cruise, daughter of Hollywood power couple Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes.

US starlet Nicole Richie, currently in the third trimester of her second pregnancy with fiance Joel Madden, is to launch a range of maternity clothes.

Richie is the girl we can all thank for the "lollipop lady" style phenomenon of a few years ago. You know the look; body so emaciated that the head looks massive and the overall effect is totally lollipop. It was usually accessorised with outsized sunglasses and a handbag big enough to sleep in, just to make sure Richie looked teeny-tiny.

Well, pregnancy is certainly not another ploy to make Richie look tiny, and we're kinda hoping the maternity range, created in association with A Pea In The Pod, won't be aiming to slim down the silhouette either, to use fashion speak.

Richie's more recent look is the "drowned in maxi-dress" style, perfect for accommodating the bump. Bets are on that the capsule range contains more than a few variations on this favourite.
